Easter Seals stamps will make their way into homes all across the the region in the next few weeks. "We are hoping that the stamps will create much-needed awareness and generate vital funds for children with physical disabilities," says Bowmanville Rotary Club Easter Seals Chairman, Irwin Hamilton. The majority of money raised throughout March will be used locally locally to provide community nursing, financial and counsellingêjssistance, parent support programs'll. camps for children and their families. The Easter Seals caseload includes includes children up to 19 years of age with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, those who have been victims of accidents accidents and many more with other physical disabilities. "Provincially, the Easter Seals Society hopes to raise $4.1 million during March," says Peter Ely, Executive Executive Director of the Ontario Easter Easter Seals Society. M' The Bowmanville Toastmasters hosted the Area 26 Public Speaking Contest on March 8 at St. John's Church. Fred Archibald, of the Bowmanville Club, was among the winners. He placed first in the Tall Tales Competition. The winner of the International Award was Jane Eves, of Peterborough and Fred Rapson, also of Peterborough, placed first in the Evaluation Competition.
