The artist attended the Ontario College of Art in the early 60's and made her career teaching art at Ontario high schools and colleges. She was head of Dunbarton High School's Art Department Department when she retired in 1988. She has also taught at the Visual Arts Centre in recent years. Animals Need Our Help Walk-in Clinic Will Promote Conservation The Oshawa Green CAP (Conservation (Conservation Action Program) has opened it's Public Information Centre right beside the TD Bank at King and Sim- coe. This walk-in "conservation clinic" clinic" offers literature and displays on- water, waste and energy management along with expert advice on many other environmental concerns including including backyard composting, hazardous waste disposal, vermicomposting, community bulletin boards, transportation, transportation, recycling and much more. This seven- session course will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 1994 at the Lung Association - Durham Region, 40 King St. W. Suite 300 (North East comer of King and Centre). Oshawa Leader Cathy Sakata describes describes the program as a "very positive positive experience". Based on behaviour behaviour modification techniques, Countdown shows participants how to deal with their smoking habit, and is particularly effective when combined combined with nicotine patch therapy. "It really puts each individual in control of their own health and future" says Mrs. Sakata. Unlike many commercial Stop Smoking programs (that can costfce- tween $200 and $700) the Lung Association Association offers Countdown for a very moderate fee. The registration fee for this session is $95, of which $45 will be refunded at the end of the course. Credit card registrations can be accepted. CPR Refresher Program Comes To BHS Apr. 11 Durham Save-a-Heart is offering a CPR Basic Rescuer Refresher Course at Bowmanville High School during April. This six-hour course will run on Monday evenings, April 11th and 18th from 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. An individual must have successfully completed the Basic Rescuer course to be eligible to take this program.
