Come one! Come all! STROKE SUPPORT GROUP - Judy Dickson, of Fenelon Counselling Services, will be the guest speaker at the Wednesday, April 20 meeting of the Clarington Stroke Support Group. Durham residents are invited to Newcastle Lumber on that date to purchase a composter for just $15. They're subsidized through the Ministry of the Environment and Energy and are made available through the Region of Durham's Waste Reduction Programs. Regional staff will be on site all day, offering free information and presenting the workshops. You don't even have to buy a composter to join the workshops or pick up information. If you already own a composter, why not take this opportunity to become a two-composter family? The program runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Newcastle Lumber is on Highway Two, east of Mill St. FUND-RAISER FOR YOUTH DROP-IN CENTRE - Tuesday, April 19, a Ladies' Night Out is being offered at Orono United Church. This will be a Fund-Raising Fashion Show and Direct Sales Exhibition. Funds raised from the event will support the Orono Youth Drop-In Centre. An admission fee will be charged. BREATHE EASY - The Lung Association of Durham Region has a program for persons who suffer from emphysema, chronic bronchitis or asthma. The Breathe Easy Program for adults with respiratory diseases begins Wednesday, April 20. The course is offered free of charjge and will run for seven consecutive sessions on Monday and Wednesday afternoons at the Lung Association office, 40 King St. W., Suite 300, Oshawa. Course participants are taught breathing exercises, relaxation techniques and simple tolerance exercises. This is a basic program, designed to give respiratory patients an introduction to self-help techniques which can improve their qualify of day-to-day living.
