2 The Independent, Canadian Statesman Weekender, Bowmanville, Saturday, April 16,1994 Clarke High School will be the scene of some thrilling academic action this Saturday as several Canadian Canadian high schools vie for the top spot in the 1994 Academic Decathlon. Teams from as far away as British British Columbia and Alberta are expected, as are several from Durham and Northumberland. Pictured above are the members of the Clarke decathlon team with coaches Jon Gale and librarian Ilona Kirby. The Clarke team includes: three student council members, a dance champion, a budding artist, three musicians, a pair of volleyball and soccer players, and even some promising comedians.
