Goal-scorers for Partners were Brian Anderson (2), and Bill McPhee. Britt Murphy was in goal for the winners, with Tim Vanstone for Newcastle Lumber. Scoring for Lumber were Don Rowley and Don Ogden. Winning coach honors go to Earl Foster. The boys' broomball team from Vincent Massey won the Junior Associated School Grouping tournament tournament recently, defeating Ontario Street in the finals by a 1-0 score. The game was tied after regulation time, and was decided in a shootout. In the five games the team played, they went undefeated, winning tour and tiemg once. Sub skated to an 11 -0 victory. The point getters for Sub were: Chris Peldiak (4G), Niko Anas- tassakis (2G,1A), Mike McCrary (2G.4A), Ted Eeuwes (1G,1A), Matt Meadows (2G), Brent Logan (3A), David Dustan 1A), Luke Thompson (1A), Derek Welch (1A). Andrew Pitt recorded the shutout. On Thursday, March 31, the Sub boys faced off against Hooper's at the Orono arena. Sub lit up the score- board first on a goal by Matt Meadows Meadows that was setup by Luke Thompson Thompson and Mike McCrory. The second Sub goal was scored when Matt passed the puck back to Lucas on the point, who let a blast go that found the net behind the goalie. Hoopers then scored to cut the lead in half. Chris Peldiak then scored an unassisted unassisted goal to give Sub their two goal lead. The Hooper's team scored again to cut the lead in half. The Sub's final goal was scored by Mike with Chris and Niko assisting. The final final score was Sub 4, Hooper's 2. On Sunday, April 3, the Sub boys played against, the Atom Selects. The final score on the board was 13-12, but because players were switched from team to team, we have to say both teams were winners. It was a fun time for all coaches, players and parents. On Saturday, April 8, the Sub boys faced off against Cutting Post at Bowmanville arena. Sub skated to a 9-2 victory. The point getters for Sub were: Niko Anastassakis (3G), Lucas Leskiw (2G,2A), Derek Welch (2G), Mike McCrory (1G,1A), James Beck (1G,3A), David Dustan (2A), Chris Peldiak (1A), Matt Meadows (1A), Ted Eeuwes (1 A). On Sunday, April 10, the Sub boys faced off against Rolph Novico at the Orono arena, The Sub boys posted an 11-1 victory. The point getters getters for Sub were: Chris (3G,4A), Matt (3G.3A), Luke (2G,2A), David Dustan (1G,2A) James (1G,2A), Brent Logan (1G,1A), Shawn Watson Watson (3A), Lucas (1A), and Mike (1A). On Tuesday, April 12, the Mr. Sub team faced off against Dykstr'as. Whoever won this game would end up in first place and the best goals against average was up for grabs. The Sub team lit up the scoreboard scoreboard late in the first period when Matt Meadows dug the puck out to James Beck, who let a blast go creating creating a loose puck for Luke Thompson to shovel under the goalie and into the net. The Sub's second goal was scored when Lucas Leskiw let a blast go that Matt tipped into the net. The, third Sub goal came when Matt 1 passed to Chris, who split the defence and shot the puck over the goalie's shoulder and into the net. The final Sub goal was scored when James Beck got the puck back to Lucas, whose blast easily beat a screened goalie. The final score would read Sub 4 - Dykstràs 0. Andrew Pitt and David McLinton recorded the shutout. shutout. The Subs completed the round robin series with six wins while scoring scoring 46 goals and allowing only seven against.
