This is Grace Murdoch, a popular member of Beehive Beehive Rebekah Lodge #125, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, for 60 years. Like the rest of us who belong to the Lodge, she was nervous when on March 26, 1934 she started to climb the three sets of stairs up to the Lodge Room on the the third floor King St. East - the entrance door off King St. between Dudley's Butcher Shop and Knox's Shoe Store, to be initiated (or as they used to say - "Ride the Goat"). Since that memorable night, Grace has been a regular attendant, has filled sixteen of the available seventeen seventeen offices, (she tells us she is not a pianist) has served as the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario President's representative representative for Oshawa District #8 East (known as District Deputy President) President) in the year 1964-65 and is currently currently Beehive's Financial Secretary. In addition to these accomplishments, she has often been a representative to the annual Assembly Sessions in June each year, has been Degree Captain Captain many times, and worked on committees committees too numerous to mention. To mark such a rare occasion as this, the Lodge members had a specially specially decorated cake at their regular meeting on March 28, 1994 at which time they also presented her with a beautiful brooch. Of course, this took place at our present location, Nightingale Nightingale Centennial Temple, 140 Queen St. Bowmanville.' My goodness! I almost forgot to mention the macaroni and cheese casseroles she kings to our pot-luck meals. Capsule Comments with Neale McLean, b.Sc. phm. Chewable Vitamin C tablets are tasty and easy to take but you should brush your teeth or at least wash your mouth out afterwards. Vitamin C Is acidic and can have an adverse effect on tooth enamel. Osteoporosis affects 25% of women over the age of 60. It has been shown that young women who maintain a sufficient Intake ( 1500 mg/day) of calcium In their youth will be less likely to suffer from osteoporosis. Leading an active physical life will help also. Everyone seems to have unused medication In their medicine cabinets. The Inclination Inclination is to use it again when it's thought that the same problem has recurred. Not a good idea! Often, it may not be the same problem and If It Is, thé amount of medication medication may not be sufficient to do the Job. Check with your doctor before using. In the U.S., The Food and Drug Administration is proposing new labelling for A.SA. (Aspirin) preparations. The labels will include the warning: "Important: See your doctor before taking this product for your heart or for other new uses of A.SA. because serious side effects could occur with self-treatment." Good advice for Canadians, too. Levels of service vary from one pharmacy to another. If you are looking for a pharmacy to feel good about, give us a try!
