' Members gathered at the home of Doreen Barrie for a pot luck luncheon luncheon and the past meeting of the '93- '94 season. Thirteen years ago our Branch was organized with 29 members members and their picture appeared on the cover of our Home and Country Fall 1981 Volume 48 issue. Following the luncheon, President Shirley Brown opened the meeting with die Mary Stewart Collect. Roll call; allowed the : 21 members present to pay their '94 -'95 dues. 2 of the 6 members who were absent were involved involved in an accident and we wish them a speedy recovery. The minutes were read by acting secretary Marion Allin. Correspondence Correspondence was read informing the branch that the World President would be visiting Canada May 28 and 29 at the Erland Lee Museum. The sunshine convener, Thelma Lane, reported on the cards sent out and read a Thank you card from Iso- belle Elliott. Barbara Wood's social convenor report confirmed 10 people would be attending the dinner theatre in Cobourg April 29. Lidy Boumeester gave the. Treasurer's Treasurer's report. A motion to donate $160 to the Bowmanville Memorial Hospital was carried. This brings our total donation to the hospital foundation to over $1000. Delegates volunteered to attend the District Annual May'll, 1994 in Bowmanville at Trinity Church. The written notice of motion to be presented presented at the District Annual was discussed discussed and voting delegates from the Branch were made aware of the Branch's decision. Following a five minute break, members enjoyed a game which tested tested our art skills and guessing the name of a song. Our Annual Meeting began with the introduction of our guest and District District President, Margaret Ford. Marian Allin volunteered to be the secretary for our annual meeting and read the 1993 minutes. The treasurer Lidy Boumeester gave the Treasurer's Treasurer's report, Shirley Brown, the President's President's report, Marilynn Dow, the P.R.O. report, Judy Buma, the Program Program Co-ordinator's report and Doreen Doreen Barrie, the Tweedsmuir History report. Margaret Ford inducted the new slate of officers and was thanked by district director Joan Tax. Under New Business, Wylma Allin Allin expressed concern with legislation to be introduced by Minister of Justice Justice Paul Rock dealing with the sale of killer and serial killer trading cards and videos to people over the age of 18. Further research will be undertaken undertaken by members of our Branch with this concern. Catering on May 11 will be under Wylma Allin's supervision and on June 22 with Doreen Barrie and Marilynn Marilynn Dow as co-ordinators. All members are asked to assist these, co-ordinators with these projects. The meeting adjourned following the conveners arranging their committee committee planning meetings for the '94- '95 season.
