The Independent, Canadian Statesman Weekender, Bowmanville, Saturday, May 7,1994 13 Armed Robbery Occurs in Oshawa Crime Stoppers and Durham Regional Regional Police Robbery Squad are asking asking for the public's help in solving an Armed Robbery which occurred in Oshawa on Thursday April 14th. At 10:05 p.m. a lone male entered XCEL convenience and variety store at 908 Simcoe St. N. and asked the clerk where the children's toys were located. The clerk then went behind the counter. After a few minutes the suspect returned to the counter and handed the victim a holdup note which included the fact that he had a gun. The suspect also verbally demanded demanded all the bills from the till. The victim complied and handed the suspect suspect all the bills plus some lottery and scratch tickets which the suspect had asked for. The suspect walked out and was last seen heading northbound northbound on Simcoe St. N. The suspect is described as male, white, approx. 40 years old and clean shaven. He was wearing a sweater- type hood over his head, a white nylon nylon jacket, blue jeans and white running running shoes.
