Fiddlers Tuning up for Pioneer Village Event Spring tune-up at Black Creek Pioneer Pioneer Village is May 23 (Victoria Day). Watch as fiddlers grip their frogs and coat their horsehairs in the hope of winning Black Creek's Fiddlers' Fiddlers' Contest. The fiddlers will tune up by coating coating the strings of the bow (horsehair) with resin and getting a good grip on its handle (the frog). Then the crowds will hum and. clap along as the fiddlers fiddlers play three tunes each - a waltz, jig and hoedown. Ganaraska Set August 27-28 Once again the Clarke Museum will be the starting point for a fun- filled weekend tour of the farms and gardens of the Ganaraska Watershed, on August 27-28. As part of the festivities, the museum museum will be presenting a special demonstration of making candles using using 19th century tin molds. In keeping keeping with the environmental theme of the Saga Committee, we are making the candles from the stubs and ends of old used candles.
