"Young people have said again and again that they need more financial financial assistance to meet growing education education costs and the requirements of a fast changing labour market," said Minister Axworthy. "With this legislation, we propose to sharply increase student loans and to introduce grants for students with disabilities, high-need part-time students students and women in doctoral studies," studies," added the Minister. The Bill delivers on a commitment commitment made by the Government in its Youth and Learning strategy, announced announced on April 15, to reform the Canada Student Loans Program - a program which has not been fundamentally fundamentally changed in almost 30 years. Students Honored with Canada Scholarships Durham MP Alex Shepherd personally presented Canada Scholarships to recipients from Bowmanville Bowmanville High School last month. The Canada Scholajrships are awarded in two, installments of $1,250 in a wide variety of programs. Students Graduate from Values, Influence, and Peers Program The Grade six class of teacher Larry Rogers at Enniskillen Public School recently graduated from the V.I.P. (Values, Influences, Peers) program sponsored by the Bowmanville Lions Club. The program is provided through a variety of videos, films and discussions with Constable Mike Marks of the Community Community Service Department of the Durham Regional Police.
