The concert, which features some of the entertainers from the 'Oranges and Tea' recording, will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday evening. The barbecue marks the beginning of a whole week of events aimed at encouraging Clarington residents to become physically active. Citizens who have taken part in any fitness activity for 15 minutes during the week are encouraged to call the Fitness Centre at 623-3392. Municipalities are competing for medals based on the amount of physical activity their residents undertake during the week. "AMBUSH" PERFORMS IN ORONO - The country band, Ambush, will perform at a fund-raising dance in the Orono Arena. Funds raised will benefit the Durham Central Agricultural Society. It takes place between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. HOSPITAL FOR SICK CHILDREN FUND-RAISER - You can enjoy "A Day at the Fair" on Saturday, May 28, in Burketon. The fun takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 25 Sumac Rd. It will feature the magic of Peter Loughran, Master of Illusions, who will perform at 2 p.m. There will be a rodeo, an old MacDonald's Farm, a ventriloquist/ clown, and refreshments. The--juror, David Hlynsky, has been an artist and working photographer in Toronto for 23 years. His expertise has extended to photography, holography, photographic publication and computer imaging. MONDAY, JUNE 6TH OFFICIAL PLAN INFO MEETINGS - The proposd Clarington Official Plan goes public. The first of a series of four information sessions to outline the plan will take place at the Newcastle Village Community Hall. The session lasts from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Citizens can visit at any time during those hours and discuss the document with planning staff. Other meetings take place later in the week in Bowmanville, Orono and Courtice. Coming Up... NATIVE ART SHOW AND SALE - On Saturday, June 11th, the public is invited to see a show of native art at the McCauley Log Home, near Bowmanville. You will enjoy not only the work of several famous Ontario artists, but also the uniquely beautiful log residence. The show takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a voluntary $1 entry fee, which will be donated to the Salvation Army in Bowmanville.
