The barbecue was set up in the parking lot of James Publishing and staff from James Publishing, the Bank of Montreal and the Toronto Dominion Bank were all invited to enjoy the burgers, dessert and soft drinks. The lunch was M&M Meats' way of thanking The Statesman for promoting the annual M&M Charity barbecue. The two banks are also among the supporters of the event. Last year, the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada raised $350,000 through the Charity Barbecue. This year's barbecue is slated for Saturday, June 18th, with 130 M&M Meat Shops across the country taking part. by Laura J. The resolution calls for the feder- n al government "to pass legislation requiring that there be minimum five-year mandatory sentencing without parole for anyone using a firearm in the commission of a crime."
