The seven young ladies and two leaders were treated to sleeping in cabins. While there, the Pathfinders had a "challenge "challenge passed off' as well as earning the Community Emblem. They enjoyed enjoyed watching the movie "Never Cry Wolf'. The girls cooked two of their meals on buddy burners. They also made chocolate and vanilla ice cream the imaginative way. Kicking a large pail with a coffee can inside was the method used. Knotting was also on the agenda. Holly Broome and Ellen Pokorski made a table from knotting a rope and sticks together. They even used it to eat off of. All arrived home safely on Sunday. The Wednesday Euchre Card Party Party is still going strong. Ruby Cochrane Cochrane had the highest score of 88. The ladies enjoyed a dinner out and were encouraged to bring a guest. After a delicious meal, the women headed back to the church for a silent auction. It seems as though the folks watching the soccer games at Elliot Park are using the Church parking lot for their vehicles. This would be fine and dandy if the church was in usé only on Sundays, however this is not the case. The church holds many functions throughout the week. A good deal of those attending are elderly. elderly. Please have some consideration and park in a more appropriate place. . The West Durham Scouters are having a "Piggy Prom". This fun Scouting year-end dance will be held on Friday, June 24th. It will be held at the Hampton Community Center on Old Scugog Road from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be door prizes as well as a light lunch. Hampton Women's Institute Thirteen members of the Hampton Women's Institute and four guests enjoyed a delicious pot-luck luncheon luncheon on Tuesday, June 7th at twelve noon. This was graciously held at the home of Eleanor and Joe Jackson. The Institute Grace was repeated. After lunch the official part of the meeting began, with President Betty Kuyer presiding. Jane Smith gave a lovely Motto of "take time to smell the roses". The meeting was closed with the repeating of the Institute Institute Ode. The next Hampton W,I. meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 6th. This will be a pot- luck luncheon held at the cottage of Marg Hall.
