We hope that June will improve more now that she is home and Pat who is being married the 25 of June has taken a two months leave to be with her and the girls are going to see if they can help with the wedding plans. Several in the area are working on tobacco and hope to finish up this week. Susan Sinnot's Ganaraska trail in the woods on Saturday was a success^ The Lewko family are planning on staying for a few days to do die business. When I got back from the funeral the mail was gone, so I am adding a few words. A nice crowd attended and after going to the cemetery they all came back to the Garden Hill church where the ladies had lunch prepared for us. Mrs. Lewko was buried; in the Port Hope cemetery. by Jacqueline Vaneyk As of Monday morning,, the planting planting is pretty well done. A lot of the soys are up, and we sure could use three or four hours of gentle, steady rain. - Little Felicity Phillips had heart surgery in Sick Kids on Thursday. The first two days were pretty tense, but on Sunday she was doing much better. Good wishes go to "Doris Baker, Rae Wilkins, and Cindy Millson, all of whom are under medical care. Earl and Edith Penwarden had a successful sale on Saturday with Ar- not Wotten as auctioneer. A good crowd came and stayed as the rain did not materialize. Lunch was sold by the United Church and was organized organized by Kathy Real and Jacqueline Vaneyk. Earl and Edith will be moving moving to Manilla later this summer. Tyrone UCW ladies met at the Golden Gate restaurant for their June meeting. The buffet was enjoyed by all, and the few items of business were quickly dealt with, so that we all could go shopping if we wished. The final anniversary service was held on June 5, and a good time was had by all. A full account is elsewhere elsewhere in the Statesman, thanks to Bessie Vaneyk. Just a reminder that St. Marguerite's Marguerite's is worshipping at St. Joseph's for the summer. . United Church services for the next few weeks are quite varied. On June 19 we will have service at the regular time. June 26 will also have service at the regular time, with lunch to follow, as this is Michelle's last Sunday as regular supply. On July 3, we will welcome our interim minister, minister, Reverend Paul Boughton, at 11:15. As well, our new organist, Doug Wylie, will begin his music ministry with us. A pot luck lunch for both churches on the charge will follow follow this service. It will be held at Tyrone Tyrone about 12:30. Look for joined services on July 10 and 17, with place, time and speaker to be announced. Our church floors are being refinished during the first week of July. Beginning July 24, there will be services in both churches at the regular regular times, with Reverend Boughton back from two weeks of holidays. Confused? Wednesday, June 8,1994 12 ladies gathered at the Golden Gate restaurant at 5 Points Mall to enjoy their Chinese buffet. Our thanks to Arlene Rowan for arranging arranging the evening. The ladies agreed to host a dinner at noon for the 60+ Club. This will be a Christmas dinner the second Wednesday in December. Marion Hoar gave the financial report report due to the absence of our treasurer, treasurer, Carol Southwell. The Presbyterial Executive will meet at Bessie Vaneyk's home June 16th for "A Day Apart".
