18 The Clarington Independent, Bowmanville, Saturday, July 23,1994 Task Force Announces Radioactive Waste Sites The Co-operative Siting Process, aimed at finding a volunteered site for a new management facility for historic low-level radioactive waste (LLRW), reached a critical milestone Wednesday, July 20, with the announcement announcement of Preferred Sites in Deep River. In implementing the siting process, process, the Siting Task Force (STF) has been working with the Deep River Community Liaison Group and the public through a series of stages in the site selection process.
