New Barbecue Will Come in Handy for Big and Little Brothers The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, Wednesday, August 17,1994 5 Clubs and Organizations District Governor Welcomed to Bowmanville Rotary Club The Big and Little Brothers of Clarington will be able to cook up some extra fun at their fund-raising events and social get-togethers, thanks to a generous donation from Miller Waste Systems Ltd. The company company has donated a Thermos barbecue to Big Brothers of Clarington. It will be used at social events for Big and Little Brothers and also at fund-raisers and special events such as the Kite Festival which is slated slated for September 17. The barbecue was presented to the organization August 9th and the Big and Little Brothers immediately immediately put it to the test with a cook-out in the parking lot of the Big Brothers office in Bowmanville. This application has recently been reviewed by the Council for an Ontario Ontario Information Infrastructure, an external external advisory body to the government, government, which advises the government on all requests for assistance from ONIP. The Council recommended that the project be approved and I have awarded a grant to the project. $63,000. "We're almost kitty comer from the new location," said Nathalie Mandcrs of the Bowmanville office. The new location is right above the offices of Trinity United Church and the building is owned by the church. Mandcrs said the move will be completed by Monday, Aug. 29, the day when fall program registrations are set to begin. "We're going to try to move next week during the daytime," she noted. The move follows a couple of tense months for the Bowmanville Branch office members who thought if help did not come quickly it might have been the end of a YWCA presence presence in this municipality. Mandcrs said, "I'm glad to be maintaining a Bowmanville office." Fall programs will once again be offered at St. John's Anglican Church, Wavcrlcy Public School, and Central Public School in Bowmanville; Dr. Emily Stowe Public School in Cour- tice; Newcastle Village Community Hall and St. Saviour's Church in Oro- no.
