Little Britain completed a two game sweep in the best-of-three series series on Friday night, posting a 6-1 victory on their home field. Coupled with the 13-3 win in game one of the series, Little Britain have advanced to the next round where they will face Lyle. Little Britain scored three runs in the opening inning of Friday's series clinching win, while limiting Bowmanville Bowmanville to only five hits. Troy Foster turned in a solid performance performance on the mound for Bowmanville, Bowmanville, pitching all nine innings. "He (Foster) pitched a heck of a game for us. We just had nothing to back him up," said Bowmanville coach Ron Cormier. The loss concludes a season that could best be described as turbulent for the ball club. With expectations high to start their second year in the senior EOBA league, Bowmanville struggled struggled on the field. We improved, but we really struggled," admitted Cormier. Much of the team's problems stemmed from fielding an inconsistent inconsistent lineup through much of the season. season. "We never seemed to get the whole crew out at once," Cormier observed. "We would get half the guys out one week, then the other half the next week." Despite the problems the team encountered during the season, Cormier vowed to return again next year. The winner of the series between Little Britain and Lyle will advance to the All-Ontario championship weekend which is being hosted by Kendal from September 2-5. cise?
