At Dorothy's Dorothy's House a group were quilting and they had 700 visitors during the two days. The Elizabethville W.I. were quilting at R. Elliott's bam and said they had quite a few there too. Mae Muldrew visited with May Ferguson Sunday, Herb Lee and a friend were at Peacock's this week. Betty and Clarence Mercer had Joan and Darryl and baby girl on Sunday afternoon for a visit. I know that the first day of fall doesn't officially start for another two weeks but let's face it, summer is over. The kids are now back to school. It will probably take well into next week to get into the swing of things. Reverend Bob Munroe and his wife Betty are certainly getting into the swing of things. A Covenanting Service was held in honour of the Munroe's last Wednesday. The welcoming welcoming took place at the Hampton United Church at 7:30 p.m. Both Hampton and Eldad Choirs performed performed beautifully. A special guest was Reverend Nancy Knox. The ladies ladies of both U.C.W.'s prepared and served the refreshments. There was a good turnout for the Sunday service, considering it was a long weekend. A reminder that Sunday Sunday School and Junior Congregation will begin this week. Parents please note that a nursery is available for those of you with little little ones. A meeting of the Sunday School leaders of Hampton was held on Tuesday. This was graciously held at the home of Karen Dair at 7:30 p.m. Reverend Bob and Betty Munroe warmly invite you to an "Open House" of the manse. Alma Lang- maid and the Manse Committee haye done a great job redecorating. This will be held Sunday, September 18th from 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m. On Monday the 19th it will ble held from 7-9 p.m. Everyone is welcome to meet the Munroe's, enjoy the fellowship fellowship and refreshments. As promised I have more information information on the Scouting registration. It is to take place on Monday, September 12th at 6:30 p.m. This will be held in the C.E. Wing of Hampton United .Church. Beavers are for boys 5-7 years. Their meetings are held at the church on Mondays from 6:15-7:30 p.m. The Cubs are for boys 8-10 years. They meet at the Hampton Junior Public School from 6:15-7:45 p.m. The Scouts meet on Thursdays from 7-9 p.m. at the Hampton Community Community Centre. Scouts are for boys li-14 years old. These fine organizations do not run all by themselves. The given volunteers volunteers are the true back bone. There is a need for a Cub leader. The boys will not be able to enjoy camping outings without a little more help. Also, the Scouting organizations as a whole are in need of a Treasurer and Committee Chairpersons for their fundraising events.
