There were 13 teams in the tyke division, with Tyrone finishing first after regular season play with a record of 15-1. On Saturday, September 10, at Soper Creek, Tyrone played Henry Buildall for the league championship. Both teams played excellent ball for a full seven innings, with Tyrone coming out the winners with a score of 3-2. Drew Sharpe pitched four innings, and Christopher Gerrits pitched the remaining remaining three. Christoper Gerrits had a home run. Monday it might be low impact, while Tuesday there is beginner step, Wednesday is body sculpting (muscular workout), and Thursday's class is interval step (combination of low impact and the step). There are even aerobic classes on Saturdays that are designed for children between the ages of 3 - 5. Active Bodies also plays an active role in community events. Sponsorship of a women's slo pitch team, as well as raising funds for new equipment at Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, are just two of the projects that the club is involved with. Carol Selby-Reed is also available as a guest speaker to service clubs, schools, or health groups. She will discuss the benefits of exercise, nutrition, and diet, as well as conduct in- class demonstrations.
