Florence Ungar and Olive Madison, Madison, (played by Margaret Williams and Jane Vatcher), are.best friends who become roommates after their marriages break up. However, differences differences in personalities and habits soon emerge. Florence likes everything to be neat and orderly, and goes to some length to achieve this, while Olive misses her old mess and wishes her friend would just loosen up. From Friday night gatherings with the girls to double dates with their Spanish neighbours, the laughter never ends. The female version of the Simon classic has retained the charm and humour of the 30-year-old original. First performed in the mid-eighties, the female "Odd Couple" has proven extremely popular with audiences, according to director Georgina Preston. Preston. Georgina has been with the Bowmanville Bowmanville Drama Workshop for eight years. She has been involved both behind behind the scenes and on stage, with roles in "The Dining Room", "Voyage "Voyage Around My Father" and "Jacob Two-Two and The Hooded Fang". This production marks Georgina's first time in the director's chair with the workshop.
