Rock Group Donates $1,000 to Hospital History Book of Darlington to be Launched Nov. 30 The launching of the new local history book "THE FIRST 200 YEARS: A BRIEF HISTORY OF DARLINGTON TOWNSHIP", will be held at the Bowmanville Museum on Wednesday, November 30th from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Author Sher Lectoozc will be on hand to personally personally autograph copies. Sher's new book costs $18.95 per copy, is 193 pages long, and covers such topics as early development, sports, schools, churches, industry, military, hotels and taverns. Every community in Darlington Township, no matter how small, has been studies. studies. Many of the historical photographs photographs used in the book have never been published before. Also taking place on the same evening is a presentation of Shcr's book to the schools located in Darlington Darlington Township. These books have been purchased by Francis Personnel Service Inc. and arc being donated to each of the three school boards by that company. On hand for the presentation presentation will be the Vice-President of Francis Personnel Services Inc,, Hugh Francis, and members of each of the three school boards. Memorial Hospital Bowmanville will be receiving as part of a $10,700 donation from Q-107 and Kaitlin Homes a contribution contribution of $1,000 from the Markham-based heavy metal band Almost Human. Band members Chris McPhail and Alan MacRae gave the cheque to Rory Oshay, a deejay with Q107 on Saturday, Nov. 5 inside "the house that Jake built." The money will go towards the $250,000 equipment fundraising fundraising project of the Memorial Hospital Foundation. The larger donation from the radio station will be presented to the hospital representatives on Dec. 2 at the Tree Lighting ceremony in Bowmanville.
