Unlike conventional light sources, a laser beam travels in only one direction and is monochromatic. This is known as biostimulation biostimulation and is the basis for the current use of lasers to treat a variety of conditions. conditions. LLLT is a safe procedure due to the low level nature of the laser beam. It does not have the hazard associated associated with high powered lasers" used for surgical procedures. Clinical studies show a reduction of pain with laser treatments directed over acupuncture points and muscular muscular trigger points. In a study involving over 4,000 subjects who had suffered from conditions conditions such as degenerative arthritis, muscle pain, tendonitis and tension, more than 80% of the subjects found a marked lessening of pain following laser treatment. In an acute injury like strain or sprain, laser treatment reduces swelling swelling and inflammation and gave significant significant pain relief.
