Cheque Donations Help Send BHS Team to Nova Scotia Hutton Transport Atoms Hit the Road for Annual Bobcaygeon Tournament With a 5-1 record in regular season play to date, it was a confident Hutton Transport squad that hit the road for the annual Bobcaygeon tournament on November 26. A determined Keswick team had similar ideas, however, and opened a three-goal lead to start game one. Hutton Hutton realized that any success they might have would require a complete team effort and they knuckled down to work. Sarah Cripps opened the third period, scoring from Jody Halik and a few seconds later, added another to pull Hutton to within one goal. They continued to pressure throughout, throughout, just failing to draw even at the final final buzzer. The big Hutton Transport was starting to roll. Game two against Sutton was never never in doubt. Hutton's offence exploded, exploded, with the defence completely blanking the opposition for an 11-0 romp. Adam Bowen (five goals), Ryan Smith (hat-trick), Sarah Cripps, Jason Buckley and Adam Pearce (a career first), all tallied for Hutton. As sists went to Kevin Lepine (2), Buck- ley, and Cripps. Solid two-way play by forwards Jody Halik, Graham Flett, Jamie Jordan, Jordan, and Brad Krane, and stingy defence defence by Darryl Yorke, Jake Woodcock, Woodcock, Katie Gerrits, and shutout goaltending by Chris Burritt all contributed contributed to the team's advancement to the 'B' final. Certain friendly rivalries highlighted highlighted this game as crosstown neighbours, Newcastle, had also qualified for the 'B' final. In a fast-paced and hard ,but cleanly cleanly fought game between two equally determined teams, Darryl Woodcock's Woodcock's second period goal from Ryan Smith proved to be the difference as Hutton Transport emerged with a 1-0 victory and the 'B' Championship. Solid two-way play from forwards and defence, and shutout goaltending had carried the day. Thanks to Newcastle Newcastle for a great game, Bobcaygeon for a first class tournament and trophies, trophies, and to Hutton Transport for its continued support of the BRHL.
