P&P's next opponent was St. Peter's, Peter's, from Trenton. For a team that has lacked scoring punch in its regular schedule, P&P sure knew how to find the net in Trenton. The team led this game 7-1 after the first period, en route to a 13-3 victory. Tyler Ferguson Ferguson led the scoring with six goals, Stephen Stephen Bathe and Kevin Smith had three each, and Mike Syer also contributed contributed one. The scoring punch continued in P&P's third game against Lake's Heating of Trenton. The team built a 5-0 lead after one period and never looked back as it earned, a 12-4 victory victory that assured it of a berth in the 'A' finals. Leading the scoring for P&P was Kevin Smith with four goals, Robbie Goddard and Tyler Ferguson each with three, Mike Syer with one, and Kyle McGrath getting his first goal of the season. The teams's final game, for the overall championship, was against Rotary Rotary Club, yet another Bowmanville entry. Tyler Beers opened the scoring for Rotary with one minute remaining in the first period. Tyler Ferguson scored early in the second to tie the game, but Tyler Beers countered less than a minute later to give the lead back to Rotary. Tyler Ferguson counted counted his second goal of the game four minutes into the third period to once again tie the, game. The teams each had opportunities before the end of regulation time, but neither was able to capitalize, as Chris Cook for Rotary and Gregory Buckley for P&P continued continued to blank the shooters. The first overtime period was five minutes, and while each team had several several glorious opportunities, neither was able to score. The teams were then reduced to four skaters each as they headed into double overtime. And this time, P&P wasn't to be denied. denied. Robbie Goddard and Mike Syer worked to clear the puck to Kevin Smith, who took it and deposited it into the Rotary net. Our congratulations to the boys who, as a team, played their best hockey of the season. This teamwork is certainly evident by the number of assists earned by the team, which are as follows: Stephen Bathe (9), Robbie Goddard (7), Mike Syer (5), Nicholas Buckley, Nathan Murray, and Tyler Ferguson each with two, and Ryan Rawn, Tyson Zoschke, Evan Holt, Kyle McGrath, and Kevin Smith each with one.
