The Vintage Day at Noonc's Restaurant was the idea of ACSCC director, Mike Walton. "We had a show up in Bob- caygcon and I came up with the idea of having a show right here. Mcllwain and Walton arc both excited and dedicated at bringing this show to Noonc's Restaurant every year for years to come. At the end of the show, trophies trophies were handed out in four categories: antique, classic, racer, and restored. Each winner winner received a trophy to lake home. Vice-president Mcllwain said the cost of a membership is very reasonable, considering considering all the benefits the members members receive. "Anyone can gel a membership membership at one of our shows, and sometimes snowmobile magazines advertise for us. But generally at tills show and the one in Markham in the fall is where to get a membership." The membership is only S15 per year, and with it you get a club decal and crest, as well as four newsletters per year. Members also receive a list of all club members and their machines." The Eagles easily took care of business by beating their arch-rival, the Ajax Axemen, 7-3, in a Provincial Jr. A League game at the Recreation Recreation Complex on Sunday night. Bowmanvillc replaced fired head coach Mark Watson with Kevin McClelland and Jim Jackson, and the players performed well for their new coaches. . McClelland was very happy with how the team battled back from an early deficit to defeat the Axemen. "I think they played well," said the new coach. "All dial has ! to be said -'is they were down 2-0 and they showed character and came back and won." The Eagles started very slowly, trailing 2-0 to the Axemen in the first two minutes minutes of the first period. Brothers Brothers Brant and Daryl Somerville Somerville put Ajax ahead, but it was all downhill from there. Bowmanvillc scored seven of die last eight goals to bury the Axemen. The Eagles were led by Dave Walt's three goals. Malt Armstrong, Scott Imrie, John Paul Luciuk and Ian Frantz scored the other four goals for Bowmanvillc. Jeff Hutchins chipped in with four assists. Adrian Saul scored Ajax's third goal after Bowinanville had scored six straight. According to Eagles' Manager Manager Mike Laing, the leant avenged its "unacceptable" 4-4 tic witlt Ajax two weeks ago. After Ajax jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first two minutes minutes of the game, coach McClelland wasn't worried about the end result. "Games aren't a two- minute hockey game. They're a 60-minutc hockey game," he said. "The outcome was very nice." The victory over Ajax improved improved Bowmanvillc's record to 19-18-2, keeping them firmly in second place in die Ruddock Division, behind the Kingston Voyageurs. Contributing to Sunday's win was great goallcnding from rookie Joey Walters, who settled down after a shaky start. With only a couple of days to prepare before making his debut behind the bench, McClelland is still evaluating the talent on the team. But, on a first glance, lie is very impressed. "We've got some good hockey players," he said, singling singling out former Oshawa General defenceman Bob McQuat as one of the team's leaders. "The forwards have a lot of speed, and the power play was clicking well from what they learned from the coach previous to me," added McClelland. Bowmanvillc tallied three limes on the power play. THE SCOOP - Sunday's game featured a spirited bout between Bowmanvillc's Scott Imrie and Ajax's Todd En- soll. Both players removed their hclmcls, exchanging a number of loc-to-loc punch- cs...Following each of Imric's fights, the game DJ (Dave "Skinny" Bowman) fills the arena sound system with the song, "What A Man"...Last Thursday night in Orillia, the Eagles dropped a 6-1 decision decision to the Terriers. Malt Armstrong cuts in front of the Ajax net on Sunday night, as the Bowmanvillc Eagles posted an easy 7-3 victory over the Axemen in a Provincial Jr. A League game.
