They come from the Tyrone Community Centre ($2,500); the Clarington Older Adult Centre Committee ($3,000) and the Bowmanville Junior 'A* Hockey Club. Mayor Hamrc said because of the changes that took place last year with the Bowmanville hockey team, the municipality is asking town staff to meet with team members and review the team's status. Mayor Hamrc noted that although the team requested $7,000, "they won't be getting all of it." It would have cost the municipality $170,157 if all 33 community organizations received the amounts they requested from Clarington Council. However, $65,800 might be the final number, depending on the requests which were tabled for review.
