Crimestoppers Seeks Help From Public Regarding Carjacking And Robbery Crimestoppers and Durham Regional Police are seeking the public's held in solving a robbery/carjacking robbery/carjacking which occurred on Sunday, May 5th in Bowmanville. At 4:00 a.m. a motorist had occasion to be purchasing gas at the Fifth Wheel Truck Stop at Waverley Road and Highway 401. While at the pumps, a lone male accosted the motorist, armed with a commando-style knife. The victim was forced to drive to a nearby location where he was robbed of a quantity of cash and his car. The vehicle, a white 1986 Ford Thunderbird, was later found abandoned just east of Bowmanville. The suspect is described as male, white, approximately 45 years of age, 5'll" tall, short blond hair. He was wearing dark coloured baseball cap and pullover jacket with track pants. The suspect spoke fluent French.
