Hamilton has been a member of the Grand Old Opry for 36 years and released his first recording about 40 years ago. He has had hit records in each of the past four decades. Alone with his guitar, atop a stage improvised from a farm wagon, the Nashville star enthralled the crowd of about 300 gathered in the vacant field north of the Kendal Church. HiS performance, which lasted more than an hour, included many favorite gospel and country tunes from Hamilton's career. Earlier in the morning, the singer singer had been in Trenton for the Classic Canadian Country Music Reunion. He has just returned from England, where he played the role of the narrator in a musical tribute tribute to Patsy Kline.
