Mr. and Mrs. Keith McGill, Mr. and Mrs. Dale McGill and family, Mr. and Mrs. Brian McGill and family attended the Brock family picnic at Bob and Nancy Shackleton's cottage at Minden on Saturday. Paul Comellier spent' this week at Camp Quinmolac. Dr. and Mrs. Bmce Bowman Bowman and Scott, London were Thursday overnight guests with Mrs. Wilfrid Bowman and Ella accompanied them to Sydenham for the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Demers and Shawn Avery. A number of spectators attended attended The Show and Shine East Antique. Car Show put on by the Optimist Club of Bowmanville Bowmanville on Sunday at C.L.O.C.A. with a good crowd in attendance. The Liberal Barbeque Picnic Picnic was held on August 7th at the Conservation Area with a good attendance. Visitors this week with Mrs. Len Stainton were Mr. and Ms. Bob Simpson, Bowmanville, Mr. Ross Smith, Whitby, and Mr. Wilbur Smith, Oshawa, Mrs. Roy Hope, Prince Albert. Fourteen of the Len Stain- ton family celebrated several August birthdays on Friday evening and Saturday lunch time. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Piggott attended services services at St. Paul's United Church, Bowmanville on the occasion of Mitchell Piggott's baptism. Mitchell is the son of Andrew and Tammy Piggott. Virtue. Mr. and Mrs. Ron Somber- gcr, Jessica and Alexandra were Saturday morning visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Quinn and Carson, Bowmanville. Mr. and Mrs. Ward Clark, Sara and Wade vacationed in Coopers Town, New York for Induction Weekend to the Baseball Hall of Fame, they also travelled to Lake Placid and toured the Adirondacks. The highlights of their trip were riding a chair lift to the top of White Face Mountain and watching the Canadian Athletes practicing for the Winter Olympics. Wayne and Lynne Piggott recently visited die home of Sheep Club Visits Vet The last meeting of the Durham Durham 4-H Sheep Club was held on July 30th, 1996, at Dr. Robert Robert and Susan Green's Veterinary Veterinary Clinic, in Newcastle. The meeting started off with Mr. Coombes bringing in a sheep, and a goat. The goat had an infection in it's navel, and would have surgery later. We had a tour of die Clinic, and we were shown different kinds of medicine, and their purposes. Then Dr. Green took two x- rays. One of a normal sheep and one of the sheep with a magnet, for picking up bits of metal in the stomach. Then Dr. Green disinfected himself, and did surgery on the goat. Liz Dewell, Press Reporter Mr. and Mrs. Jake Gerryts, Mosport Road and last Sunday at noon a birthday party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Piggott, Bowmanville Bowmanville in honour of Mitchell's Mitchell's 1st birthday. Congratulations on the forthcoming marriage of Jeff Drinkle to Erin Salisbury who are being married September 14th.
