At Monday night's special Council meeting Claringlon lawyer, Dennis Hcffcron noted noted that "three or four matters raised by Markborough" needed to be cleared up. Clarington councillors were given a letter from Hcffcron sent to Chief Administrative Administrative Officer Bill Stockwcll which examines the draft subdivision agreement agreement between the municipality, municipality, two numbered Ontario companies and the Royal Bank of Canada. The property owners have asked for a couple of deferrals deferrals including a deferral in the timing of payment of just over $100,000. for Hwy 2 street lighting and sidewalk contributions. They would like to make these payments when the building pcrmil(s) for one or more buildings are issued. Another deferral requested is that development charges "not be imposed with respect to their proposed commercial development for the balance of the term of the present Council," states the letter from Hcffcron. He notes that the "request is not unreasonable and I recommend recommend that it be granted." Hcffcron suggests that the walkway width of six metres be reduced to a minimum of four metres. "Portions of the walkway will be wider and will be shown on the site plan.," he wrote. He also recommended that the owner's request be granted. The final recommendation from the municipality's solicitor solicitor is that Clarington grant the "existing Servicing Agreement be terminated when the Subdivision Agreement Agreement is registered on title."
