The huge car show is scheduled for Sunday, August August 25, rain or shine, at General General Motors headquarters located located beside beautiful McLaughlin Bay in Oshawa. Gales open at 10 a.m. and the show winds up at 5 p.m. Admission is S5 for adults. Children under 12 get in free. As many as 1 (),()()() car buffs arc expected. On Saturday, August 24th the 131st annual Blackstock Fair,will take place. Although billed as one of the smallest fairs in Ontario, it is certainly one of the best. The fun actually begins on the Friday evening (August 23rd). At 7:00 p.m., the flag drops and the thrilling Demolition Demolition Derby begins. Admission is $6.00 for adults and $2.00 for children 12 years and under. under. Come back on Saturday and enjoy Agriculture at its best. The buildings brimming with vegetables, baking and home crafts open at 9:30 a.m. The colourful parade - with an Olympic theme - leaves the Public School at 10:30 a.m. and arrives at the Fairgrounds at approximately 11:00 a.m. The fair will then be officially opened by World Champion Figure Skater Donald Jackson. Hospice Durham To Train Volunteers Hospice Durham has scheduled scheduled another Volunteer Training Training Program to begin in the fall.
