Tyrone News By JacquelineVaneyk The heat of the last few weeks has been a real help towards towards maturing the crops. Much of the grain is combined with quite varied results. The bushel weight is light in many cases, and in some places, the underseeded clover was nearly as high as the grain, so that harvesting was difficult. Fish, waterbirds, nets, a boat, even a desert shore with a palm tree set the scene for the 53 kids who registered to go "Seaside with the Saviour" at Tyrone Summer Bible Camp. A trip around the Sea of Galilee Galilee was the basic theme. This was enhanced by stories, slides, activities such as knot- tieing and crafts. Singing, games and snacks were also part of every morning. The week finished up with visits to some of our seniors, followed by a barbeque and swim. The event was organized by Jane Koene with lots of help from Sheryl Hunter, Norm Scli, Ruth Stavrakos, Marilyn Va- neyk, Betty Pascoe, Elsie Ferguson, Ferguson, Sharon Trudeau and Rebecca Skinner. Special guests were Reverend Nancy Knox, with pictures of what the Sea of Galilee really looks like and Doug Webster, who helped everyone learn to tie some knots. Many other people helped with snacks, drinks and the barbeque. A big thank you to everyone! The annual Pig Roast attracted attracted over 250 hungry people on Sunday evening. The meat was lovely and so was the com. That, plus salads, hamburgers, hamburgers, hot dogs, oodles of goodies and ice cream, as well as face-painting for the children children and lots of visiting by the adults, means a good time was had by all! It also gave a needed needed boost to the economy of the church. The final summer service of the season will be on September September 1 at Tyrone at 9:30 a.m. It will also be the last Sunday that Tim Southwell will be with us and we have all enjoyed enjoyed his music. Beginning September 8, we return to our regular time of 9:30 at Enniskillen Enniskillen and 10:45 at Tyrone. Sunday, September 1 is also Decoration Day at Bcthcsda Cemetery. Reverend Norm Scli will be leading the service at 2 p.m. with music provided by Tim Southwell. Everyone is welcome. Choir practice started on Tuesday and will resume on Thursday, September 5 at 7:30 p.m.
