6 The Clarington/Courlice Independent, Bowmanville, Saturday, September 7,1996 Skills Drills Kids interested in testing their athletic ability on the football field can register for a Skills Drill competition that will be taking place at Oshawa Civic Fields on Monday, September 9, at 7:00 p.m. The event consists of running running a pylon course for speed, throwing a football for distance and accuracy, and kicking a football from a tee for distance. The competition it open for both boys and girls aged 7-16, and is divided divided into age categories. The winner in each category category will go mi to the finals at SkyDome during the last regular season home game of the Toronto Argonauts. Also, some members of the Argonauts will be in attendance attendance to sign autographs and offer encouragement to those competing. A plaque was presented to Nicole by councillor Pat Pingle on behalf of the Municipality of Clarington, as well as a lovely bouquet of flowers from members of the community. Outside the church, a sign and some decorations welcomed the long jumper back home. Orioles Planning Awards Night The final pitch on the baseball season will be thrown this week.
