The former location, just off of Baseline Road, near Courtice, wasn't the most desirable desirable drive during a winter's winter's night. Kennish is hoping the new location on Church St. will eliminate the fears of travelling. Training sessions are held every Tuesday and Friday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. If there is enough interest, interest, a third session on Saturday Saturday afternoons will be added later in the fall. The co-ed club averages 18 to 23 people per session, with members ranging in age from 5 to 50. The first visit to train with the club is free, with a pay- per-session fee afterward. However, three members members travelled to Fenelon Falls on Friday, September 6th to play in the Cornerstone Furniture Furniture Tournament. This was a mixed treble game where a lady was required to skip and vice with the man leading. So our team consisted of Marg Noble, Skip, Betty Petrie Vice and Frank Petrie leading the way. The result of the contest was high two game winners. Congratulations! At home the Club is in the midst of some singles, pairs, and mixed pairs competition which, hopefully, will be completed completed in the coming week. Because of inclement weather the Canadian Legion Trophy Tournament scheduled for Sunday, September 8th was cancelled with a rain-date of Saturday, October 5 th. The sad news from our Club is the sudden passing of Frank Ball, a popular hardworking hardworking member. To Pearl and all the family sincere condolences condolences from the Club. The Badgers defeated defeated Whitby 15-14 in the final.
