A male caller convinced her she would receive free gifts, cash and a new car if she would agree to purchase "portfolios." She received fifteen portfolios and other articles valued at approximately $1,500, which police say she had no use for. The case is still under investigation. Durham Regional Police continue to warn the public against purchasing items from unfamiliar companies who guarantee prizes. Sgt.
