Clarke High School travelled to St. Stephen's Thursday, September 26, to play a doubleheader (junior and senior). St. Stephen's won both games. The juniors won 4-0, while the seniors pulled out a 3-2 victory. St. Stephen's junior boys coach, Trevor Paziuk, was happy with the 4- 0 win, but said the team will have to improve. "It was impressive, but as we go along we'll have to pass better," Paziuk told The Statesman. "We have good solid players that are talent- The junior team initially had 16 players, but three juniors came back from the senior team to give them 19. Clarke's junior coach, Peter Willems, said his team needs time to come together. "We have a lot of grade nines who need time to get comfortable with new positions. I'm still finding out who can play defence, because they're mostly forwards," Willems said. The senior game Was filled with excitement and St. Stephen's senior coach, Kiley McDaniel, liked the way his team played against Clarke. "We essentially outplayed them, but we have to slow down our mid- field play and focus on midfield ball control," McDaniel stated. "The players were disappointed at all our missed opportunities," Clarke senior boys' coach, Jon Gale, was happy with the way his team battled throughout the game. "We played strongly. St. Stephen's went up 2-0, we came back strongly strongly in the second half, but we ended up losing," Gale said.
