That vision became a reality this summer. Mel Putnam, Pat Moffat and Theresa Dreossi from Bowmanville Senior Public School (BSPS), came up with an idea which would provide a better fitness program for the students. The idea evolved into the Putnam Trail, which is built on the back field of the school. It includes a. new walking trail, a beach volleyball volleyball court and a basketball court. Approximately one year ago, the three teachers went to the school board with a proposal to build what would later be named the Putnam Trail. The concept was approved approved and building began. The original plan was for the trail to be a two-to-three- year project, but it was completed completed this August with the paving, of. the basketball court. It took just one year to complete the trail. Moffat, a phys-ed and music music teacher at BSPS, was happy happy to have the trail completed this summer.
