Region-Wide Thanksgiving Food Drive Starts October 10th The annual Thanksgiving food drive sponsored by the Optimist Club of Oshawa officially officially begins on October 10 and will continue until Thanksgiving Day. The theme this year is: Help Fill a Fire Truck and Feed the Hungry Kids of Durham. According to food drive co-ordinator Maryanne Shol- dra, all food collected will stay in Durham, to be distributed distributed through Salvation Army Food Banks in Clarington, Oshawa, Whitby and Ajax. "Over the past few years, the numbers of families requiring requiring help have grown," Sholdra says.
