Fanners from all over Ontario meet to compare notes, share ideas and try to get a handle on new directions for agriculture. One idea presented a couple of times was that agriculture needs to be marketed to the general public. Most people take their food for granted, without realizing the huge industry industry behind it, and the opportunities opportunities for young people, not only on farms, but in the dozens dozens of industries built on farming farming - e.g. fertilizer, machinery, meat packing, grain processing and so on. The crops in Eastern Ontario have generally been above average, average, while Western Ontario has been quite varied and in some areas downright poor - parts of Lambton County for example. The family of Don Davey held an Open House in honour of his ninetieth birthday. Friends and family took the time to bring greetings to this gentleman who doesn't miss much of what is going on in the world. Some other good news: Sandra Sandra Milne is home and feeling better. At time of writing Walter Walter Park is also feeling better, but still in hospital. Little Felicity Felicity Phillips is home following following surgery.
