Congratulations Congratulations on a great production. Larry Hoskin of Lake Louise, Alberta has been visiting visiting his mother, Mrs. Muriel Hoskin, and other relatives and friends for a few days. On Sunday Sunday evening Joan and Harvey Graham hosted a family dinner when Muriel Hoskin, Pat Fletcher and Ron and Sandra Hoskin and their families with their friends attended. A bridal shower with a Christmas theme was hosted by Gwenyth Thompson with Dorothy Venning as co-hostess in honour of Laura Gilbank. Judy's customers gathered at Gwenyth's .home in Port Perry on Saturday morning to enjoy time together with games, food, fellowship and many gifts for the bride-to-be. On Saturday, November 30, students and teachers from Cartwright High School's class of 1986 gathered for a 10-year reunion. Tara Bailey-Taylor was M.C. for the evening which was held at the Emerald Marc Restaurant on Shirley Road. Everyone enjoyed the dinner, dancing and the opportunity opportunity to reminisce. The Cartwright High School's Christmas luncheon for seniors will be held Wednesday, December 18, at noon. Call the High School to make reservations. After the morning service on December 8th, Church Librarians Librarians Anne Carmichael and Ruth Welham-Umphrcy, with the members of the Library Committee, Committee, set up a Christmas Book Fair in the Parish Hall. The theme was, of course, the real story of Christmas and there were lots of beautiful Christmas books, for young and old, on display. Many of these books would not be found on the displays or shelves in the "average" bookstore. bookstore. Not all the books on display display were "Christmasy". There were books covering a variety of subjects including Anglican theology, Eucharist, excellent Lives of the Saints and many other topics - all great ideas for Christmas gifts. The Book Fair will be held again after the service on Sunday, December 15th. December 15 th is shaping up as a bright and busy day for the people of St. John's. Choral Morning Prayer will be the Service for the Third Sunday of Advent and on this occasion it will include the Annual Children's Children's Christmas Pageant. This year's pageant has been rehearsed rehearsed in secret and only Fa ther Hugh, the Church school teachers, and of course, the children know what we'll all be watching. But we all know it will be just great; every year this pageant is a real delight.
