Peterborough started the scoring scoring and were up by 2-0 in the second. Jeff Larsh set up Jeremy Jeremy McKee, who fired one in the top comer. Jacob wanted to head into the Christinas break on a winning winning note, and that's exactly what his players did for him. The Eagles beat Trenton 6-4 on Sunday, December 22, to raise their record to 12-18- 3, moving them into third place in the Ruddock Division, Division, one point ahead of the Ajax Axemen. Bowmanville started slowly, slowly, as Trenton went ahead 2-0 on a goal in the first period and one in the first minute of the middle period. Adam Armstrong scored two goals to send the teams into the second intermission tied 2-2. The Eagles came out flying flying in the third as Charlie Bosworth and Steve Blais (on the power play), put the home side up 4-2 in the first two minutes of the third. Trenton tied the game 4-4, but the Eagles refused to let the game slip through their fingers. Niall Maynard and Ron Baker scored later in the third to give the Eagles the 6-4 win. Armstrong finished with two goals and two assists. Baker was not to be outdone as he added three assists to go along with his goal. Blais was the offensive star for the Eagles, chipping in with four assists to go with his goal. Coach Jacob and the players had a discussion after the first period to sort things out. "We started slowly, but we had a long talk about each player's commitment," he said following the game. "In the third we had them right where we wanted them and we let them back in, but we were fortunate to score next." The Bowmanville Eagles headed into the Christmas break on a positive note, posting posting a 6-4 victory over Trenton in a Provincial Jr. A league game played at the Recreation Recreation Complex on Sunday, December 22.
