Quality control of volunteer services is a major goal of the newly-formed organization, says Carolyn Smith, a board member of the VRC. "It's a point of access for individuals and agencies to come together, matching community community needs with individuals," she says. "This workshop is a way for us to begin delivery of our core services." Lorraine Street, Executive Director of Volunteer Ontario, will conduct the February 20 screening workshop. Street is an authority of legislation and social policy affecting volun- teerism and provides training to hundreds of voluntary agencies across Canada. Organizations must register before February 12.
