THURSDAY, FEB. 20 FORUM ON EDUCATION -- The Durham Region Coalition for Social Justice welcomes the public to its forum on education entitled "As If Our Future Mattered." The meeting is Thursday, Feb.-20, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Steelworkers' Hall, 115 Albert St., Oshawa. A panel of teachers, parents, education workers and school board representatives will discuss their concerns about how the school system will be affected by recent provincial announcements and plan local responses to these major reforms. SATURDAY, FEB. 22 HOCKEY LEAGUE DANCE -- On Saturday, February 22, the Clarington Recreational Hockey League will hold a dance at the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex starting at 8 p.m. Non-stop dance music will be provided by the band "Chaser," alternating with taped DJ sound. There will be lunch, door prizes and cash bar. Proceeds support over 800 children involved in minor hockey through the CRHL. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. * ••••••••• TUESDAY, FEB. 25 SENIORS LINE DANCING -- On Tuesday, February 25, the seniors' program at the Beech Ave. Lions Centre in "Look Good...Feel Better", the program developed by the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CCTFA) Foundation specifically for women undergoing treatment for cancer returns to Oshawa General Hospital. The 2-hour workshop will be held on Tuesday, February 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. The workshop is being offered on the third Tuesday of every month, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Oshawa General Hospital and will consist of small groups of 10 women. All participants must be undergoing chemotherapy or radiation for treatment of cancer and may be receiving their treatment at a hospital other than Oshawa General.
