This tournament is in honour of the late Harold Bennett without whom YBC would not exist in Bowmanville. Harold ran the YBC program for many, many years. Peewee Selects Earn Reputation It seems a fine reputation has been gained by the CRHL Peewee Eagles Select team. The Eagles upheld a season long commitment to play against the Hamilton Mountain Blues on February 2, at the Hamilton Double Rinks. Upon arrival, with available ice time, a back-to-back set of games were arranged. With six regulars regulars absent, reliable spares Jeff Dean and Craig Reed, provided provided the team with great confidence confidence and a hard working effort. The team effort gained a gritty victory with Ian Laflamme supplying a strong set up ability, assisting on Craig Reed's goal. Jeff Ball put it to Ian and he helped gain Tyson Crocker the team's second second goal. Jeff Ball put Clarington ahead 3-1, assisted by Jeff Reynolds. Jeff Reynolds put Ian to the task again in setting up the Eagles fourth goal by Tyson Crocker. Tyson gained the hat-trick from Brent Dechene to win the first game 5-2 for the CRHL Eagles. With a fifteen minute break, confidence carried the character character of a hard working Eagles club as they put it to Hamilton with a 6-0 rout. Kyle Widmeyer provided two goals in his very defensive efforts, • Tyson Crocker, Craig Reed, Jeff, Dean, Jeff Reynolds scored on assists from Tyler Kohn, Sean Mitchell, Ian Laflamme, Jeff Ball, Tyson Crocker and Jeff Reynolds. Later in the week an invitation invitation to play Mariposa, was taken up. Knowing one of the team's early defeats was experienced experienced by this team, the Eagles held firm for the first two periods, going to the dressing dressing room down 3-2. Tyler Kohn woke the team up early in the third, blasting a shot into a small opening seven seconds into the period. Tyson Crocker really put on a drive, following up with four, and Rob Cummer with a good pair of gloves, then scored, while humiliating Mariposa 8- 3. Sean Mitchell added four assists, Nat Fair, Tyler Kohn with two, Kyle Widmeyer trying trying wing for a change gained a goal and two assists, and Justin Osborne produced a point in order to make up a point, per penalty situation.
