Driving Instructor Addresses Solina Women's Institute President Jean Taylor welcomed members and guests and opened our March meeting with a reading, "The Legend of the Leprechaun". Mr. Stevenson is an electrical engineer but a driving driving instructor by choice, who enjoys what he does. He has been teaching Driver Education for 30 years and gives refresher courses for mature drivers. This "55 Alive" program was started in the U.S. and has been adapted for Canada and is constantly upgraded. It is a 9- hour classroom course on "Defensive Driving", providing, on completion, a certificate certificate from the Canada Safety Council. We learned of the licensing requirements for young people and those for 70 and 80-year- olds. Mr. Stevenson answered many questions and was thanked by Cindy Ashton for his entertaining presentation.
