Gambling is a social activity that can become addictive and destructive to personal and family stability. It encourages greed as a way to financial security. The government uses questionable means to justify the ends: income assistance assistance to community programs and services. Government must serve its citizens through an equitable distribution distribution of income and resources, not from gambling income. This is a moral issue that demands principled, not expedient, action.
