All available tickets were sold for the event, which is a fund-raiser for Memorial Hospital; the Seventh Howmanville Scouts; the Learn Not To Burn Campaign and the community projects of the Howmanville Lions Club. Participants were treated to two races. The race for corporate ticket-holders was at noon and featured 100 rubber ducks. Wiggans Landscaping was the lucky winner of that round. Later in the day, 5000 of the smaller ducks were launched over the Highway Two Bridge and downstream. Tire winner of the $5,000 grand prize was Dr. Charles Cattran. While waiting for the events, onlookers could enjoy music by the country rock band, Chaser; a demonstration of animals from Orono's Jungle Cat World; a visit to Clarington's fire safety house; and a barbecue. These photos include: (at left) the start of the featured race; the capture of the first corporate duck over the finish line and (at right) the clean-up of the ducks by volunteers.
