Parents in attendance were served cake and punch by students and handed buttons bearing a slogan of thanks to the "Parents Who are the Heart of Our Programs." by Betty Wright Enniskillen Public School is hosting a Community B.B.Q. on the field on Wednesday, June 18th from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. There will be hamburgers, hot dogs, pop, chips etc. and all proceeds will go toward the purchase of playground equipment. Church Picnic - Last year, we had a great time, so you won't want to miss it this year. The picnic is Sunday, June 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. at Tyrone Community Centre. Lots of fun for everyone, lots of parking, lots of room, lots of fun, lots of food, lots of music, lots of reasons for you to be there. (Again this year by popular demand the Banjo' Player will be back. We will sing Magic Penny, All God's Children Got a Place in the Choir, Mamma Don't Allow, Do Lord and others. others. We'll share some food, laughter, laughter, play games and celebrate a wonderful year. Who would want to miss that? by Edna Thickson Church services were very well attended on Sunday. Following the musical prelude, prelude, call to worship, and rejoice, Reverend Sedgwick welcomed everyone, especially especially the two to be baptised. The first lesson was read by Reverend Sedgwick. Expression of Worship was singing. The choir had an anthem. A baptism followed when two boys, Carl Rudy Jesswein son of Rudy and Sheila Jesswein and William John Tomlin Thompson son of Barry and Linda Thompson were christened. Second lesson was from 1 Samuel 8. The children's minute was explaining the baptism. Offering was collected by Jackson Peacock and Eugene Watkins. Sermon was "A Family With No Blood Relationship". Benediction and Choral Amen followed. In the afternoon Elizabethville held their Sunday School Anniversary and pot luck dinner at the Whitbred's featuring the Oshawa Centennial Albert United Church and Elizabethville Sunday School as well. This year we've decided that Enniskillen folk will bring main courses and Tyrone will bring desserts. Don't forget to bring your own cups, plates, etc. Summer is good thinking lime and the Enniskillen Church would like you to do some thinking, thinking, even a little writing. In the vestibule of Enniskillen and Tyrone Churches there is a brown envelope marked "worship "worship ideas", we'd like some. If you have a Prayer or a Call to Worship, or a Hymn or just a few lines of prose or poetry that you ' think could be included in our worship, please write it down and put it in the envelope. On Saturday evening 35 friends, neighbours and relatives gathered at the "home of Stuart and Doreen Lamb to help them celebrate their 40th anniversary. Congratulations folks. On Wednesday Ella was a guest at the Alzheimers Tenth Annual Luncheon at the Oshawa Golf and Country Club and Thursday she was a guest of Mr. and Mrs.George Carson, Orono at the dinner and afternoon of cards at the Odd Fellows Hall.
