Bruce Kellett (705)328-2185 Obituary STEVENS Gordon Howard Gordon Howard Stevens (Blon- die) of Enniskillen, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital, Bowman- ville, on Saturday, May 31 1997. Mr. Stevens was in his 83rd year. Mr. Stevens was born in Enniskillen Enniskillen and remained a lifelong resident. He was the son of the late Howard Howard and Murial Stevens (nee Stainton). A brother Frank, a sister Luella Walton and a nephew Darrell Walton predeceased predeceased him. Mr. Stevens was well known in his youth as an active active soccer player and an avid follower of horse racing. He will also be well remembered for his singing voice. The quartet consisting consisting of the late John Slem- mon, the late Orville Ashton and Edgar Wright. Mr. Stevens was a member of the Shriners and Masons organizations. organizations. Mr. Stevens, was employed by General Motors, Oshawa, for 32 years, interrupted only by service service in the Armed Forces, Army Division. He retired in 1974 and enjoyed good health until July of last year when he became a resident of Strathaven Lifecare Centre in Bowmanville. His is survived by nephews Ted and Ron Walton of Kingston and their families, numerous other family members and dear friend Clara Page. The funeral was held at Morris Funeral Chapel in Bowmanville on Tuesday, June 3, 1997, with Reverend Norman Seli officiât ing. An inspirational poem was read by Shirley Stainton. Or ganist was Ross Metcalf. Pall bearers were Ted Walton, Ron Walton, Tod Walton, Wally Grif fin, Stuart Lamb and Stewart Preston. Honourary pallbearers were Ron Sharp, Jim McLaughlin, McLaughlin, Ralph Lamb, and Ralph Virtue. Virtue. Following the interment at Hampton Hampton Union Cemetery, friends and family gathered at Enniskillen United Church, where a beautiful beautiful luncheon was served by the Women's Association.
