"Dancing is also fun," admits Gifford who got involved with dance at an early age. "I was taking gymnastics and next door was the dance studio. I would beg my mom to let me go and watch the dancers," says Gifford. "Next thing you know, I was signed up." On Saturday, June 28th, Kelly Gifford will be bringing the Creative Dance Workshop troupe out to the Sun Aqua Festival for a • special performance. Spectators will be treated to a variety show featuring Musical Theater, which incorporates modern dance, jazz, tap and lyrical lyrical (slow jazz whereby the dancers perform a story which is in a song). Also in the show "will be Modern Dance which is not as technical as Tap or Jazz but focuses more on freedom of form and movement and a broad base for musical interpretation. Jazz Dance and Tap Dance will also be represented. The entertainers performing at this special show range in ages, from six years to fifteen. Show time is 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28th, at the Port Darlington Marina (Lake Rd. South, Bowmanville). This is an all-ages smoke-free event. A minimum donation of $4 is being asked by the Sun Aqua Festival organizers to help support support the Clarington Teen Youth Centre project and to help finance the Save the Swans project. project.
